Jazz Game

We were able to get some sweet tickets to the Jazz game and having been talking with Dan and Katie about how we need to go to one we couldn't pass up the opportunity and glad that they were free and able to go with us... Thanks for being able to get off and go with us Kate.

Tip off Jazz vs. Nuggets

I thought I needed to go and buy a jersey for the game so I could show my Jazz spirit:-)

GO JAZZ!
(I thought I took pictures during the game but I guess not.)

HardWare Ranch

I had been talking about how I really wanted to go to Hardware Ranch the next time we both had a day off. Dale just happened to get lucky and he surprised me with a fun filled day of activities.

I felt really bad for this elk. I cannot imagine carrying these antlers on your head but imagine one side being bigger than the other. Talk about head ache.

I felt like my little nephews and how excitied they get when they see the Elk or deer.

The person that was taking us on the wagon ride had just got done saying that the Elk don't make much noise right now. After the guy was done...... This elk started making noises I thought it was very ironic.

Apperication for healthy Bodies

I think a lot of time we take for granted what our bodies do for us. (DALE IS GOING TO HURT ME WHEN HE FINDS OUT I POSTED THIS) We had a little experience this past couple weeks that I think made both of us appreciate walking, running, and what all the body can do.

The other night, Dale went and played church ball and hurt him self pretty good. At first, I thought he was just being a baby I watched the whole game and I didn't really see anything that looked like it could have caused him as much pain as he was complaining about. He started walking and I knew it was not good he couldn't even walk, trying to get him in the car was not very fun either. I knew then that something was really wrong with him. (The game was a later game and we got home about 9:30.) Dale called a chiropractor and he was kind enough to let Dale come in. He worked on Dale for a good hour and couldn't get the hip or his lower back back into place. He said that he would like to see Dale the next morning, we went back 2 more time and nothing was happening it was almost getting worse. He started having this tingling feeling going down his legs which then started making me very scared. The chiropractor said he had done all he could and that he would recommend that we go to a doctor. It was very hard finding a doctor who was open on a Friday afternoon at 4:oopm. We finally went to a doctor and a sports med doctor who had no tact and FREAKED ME OUT. Telling Dale that he could loose feeling in legs, have a limp the rest of life, needing surgery...... I thought that I was going to have a paralyzed husband by the way they were talking they called the ER and ordered a CT scan ( i had to leave the room to gain some composer I was bawling so hard I was shaking). We went to the ER and had the CT done and sat in a little waiting room for what felt like hours. We got the reading back from the doctor and they said that everything thing looked OK but there was swelling around the spine and needed to be very careful the next couple days. They gave him some inflammatory meds and we were on our way. Although, Dale is up and moving around walking and trying to get back to normal, I think it just made me appreciate my ability to walk and love my body that much more. I'm glad we have great family (Thanks Floyd and Dave for giving Dale a blessing), neighbor and friends who helped us out. You guys are awesome.

Happy Birthday Wishes Dad!

HApPy BiRthDay DAd!!! For my dad's birthday this year, all he wanted was to be with the family. It just happened to be Icon ski night that night and so, we were all able to go up skiing. Usually night skiing isn't the best but It was well worth. Beaver just happened to get a good snow storm and continued that night to get snow. Everyone was loving it.... nothing like fresh powder! It was a really good time. I was kinda bummed that I didn't go, but I had a good time getting pictures of everyone and bonding with my mom.

Christmas 2009

A little of what our Christmas Eve and Christmas was like:
We spent Christmas Eve and the first part of Christmas with my family. For Christmas Eve we always have Fondu. YUMMY!! (Just a picture of how all out my moma goes!)
My Dad insisted that we do the chimes. None of us were really in the mood so he took over and played us a couple songs.

This isn't the best picture but we always act out the nativity (doesn't matter how old you are) It was a fun treat this year. We had the whole family together my two lil' sisters boyfriends were good sports and dressed up with us and spent the night with us. WE were all one BIG family. A Christmas I don't think any of us will forget. Thanks everyone for making it so fun!

Santa spoiled us both this year!
(Picture before we started opening up our gifts.)

I wanted to do something a little different this year and make Dale a gift that was homade. I was very excited to give this to him! ( it took me a very long time to make it.. so not being able to show him until Christmas was very hard for me) Inside is all his mission pictures. He was very excited which made me even more stoked!

We heard this game was really fun and I guess we both had the same idea.

Christmas gift opening and giving is done and look at the fun mess we get to clean up.

Dale taking a power nap, I don't think he'll ever get use to how early my family gets up to open gifts, BUT he sure is a good sport! Thanks BABE.

ALot of CaTching Up to Do!

So, it has been a while since I've done a blog post and a lot has been going on. I will start with the most exciting news yet.... and that would be that we are going to have a BABY!! I AM PREGO..... WAHOO!!!! I'm 18 weeks. We find out on March 5th what we are having so, stay tune! (Many know we are going to have a baby but I'm sure their are a few out there who we haven't told.)

We were able to find out and tell our families around Christmas family parties. We stressed over ways to tell Dale's and my Family but I think we finally came up with a way to tell and this is how we did it.
The Burnett's Do a Christmas Party the Friday before and each family is asked to do a talent So, for our talent this year we decided that we would be poets.... The poem we did went a little like this: (I thought we had a picture of us doing it but I guess not!)

T'was the week before Christmas the Burnett family gathered near to spend time with one another and make memories that are so dear. To celebrate, to laugh and to share talents that we all like to hear.
We all have a gift to give. Let's remember it throughout the year. Our gift this year is one of holiday cheer.
We've waited a long while. We are excited to share our lovely news, It looks like we will be adding one more person to the Burnett Crew.
With My Family on Christmas morning everyone thought we were done opening gifts but we had one more.... we had put the ultrasound picture in a small box and gave it to my parents to open. EVeryOnes faces were priceless!!!! My dad was teary eyed and my mom and Kate were jumping with excitement!!! (we got it all on video)
So, on with our Christmas and I'll work my way to the most recent so, I don't miss anything.

Christmas wouldn't be the same if we didn't stay with tradition of decorating ginger bread houses. Thanks MOM!

The Burnett's ginger bread houses.

For neighborhood Christmas gifts this year I made these fun snowmen goodies. I got the idea out a Family Fun magazine. They were really fun to make.

Getting into the Christmas Spirit

We thought this year that we would try things a little different and do the Christmas lights on Temple Square at the beginning of the month and not waiting until the end. We got together with The Sutherlands, (friends from the old ward.) and made it a night on the town.

We went to the Rodizio Grill for dinner. Very yummy food.

Dale & Casey were very much in shock when we received our bill for dinner..... Dale famous quote of night "Ok food for an expensive price, looks like we won't be doing the horse carriage ride or shopping." After dinner we went to Temple Square.

I have to say one of the best parts of Christmas would have to be the lights and what a better place to go and see them than on Temple Square. Every year they do such a great job!

This year they had part of the manger scene in the reflection pool. It looked really cool.

I couldn't help but put this picture in. I just think that it turned out kinda funny.
